Hospice volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team. They provide companionship, comfort, and care to patients and their families, and their work is deeply important and improves the quality of life for those they serve. Most volunteers find the experience of volunteering in hospice emotionally fulfilling and transformational.
If you are a compassionate person with people skills, we'd love to welcome you into the work of hospice.
Ways you can help include but are not limited to:
Preparing meals for patients and families
Providing transportation to patients, families, and the children of the families
Assisting in light household chores
Sitting with patients to provide companionship and a comforting presence
- Playing music for patients to provide a soothing and joyful atmosphere
We have continuing opportunities in the DFW area as well as opportunities for folks who can help out from time to time but not make a regular weekly commitment. If this sounds like you, please be in touch!
