About Snake River Animal Shelter

Location:

Mission Statement

Promoting quality care and compassion for domestic animals in the upper Snake River valley and building a state-of-the-art facility giving homeless animals a longer chance to be adopted.

Description

THE CONCERN: Animals are still having to be euthanized in the Upper Snake River Valley for lack of space. Many of these animals are healthy and adoptable. The problem is most severe in the cat community but dogs with manageable behavior, health and age issues are still at risk. Our mission is to give every dog and cat in our community a fighting chance to find a forever home and to educate our community about animal welfare issues including the importance of spay/neuter.

The SOLUTION: The Snake River Animal Shelter (SRAS) is committed to drastically reducing the number of dogs and cats being euthanized in our community by promoting quality care and compassion for domestic animals. SRAS is pursuing three paths to achieve this mission:

1.Providing strong education, spay/neuter, and adoption programs to help decrease the number of unwanted animals 2.Operating a pet-friendly shelter facility allowing animals more time to be adopted 3.Supporting pet owners by providing a variety of pet services and operating a community dog park.
