Mentors meet weekly one-on-one with teens at supervised sites to provide academic support and mentoring. Mentors serve as role models with the goal of helping their student do better in school, while developing a supportive one-on-one relationship with the youth. Free training and screening is provided.

Mission Statement

Power 4 Youth provides academic mentoring for struggling students by connecting youth with caring adult mentors. Power 4 Youth helps at-risk middle and high school youth to do better in school by addressing the issues that are keeping the students from doing their best, and motivating them to be good citizens of the community.

Description

We provide academic mentoring by volunteer adults to middle and high-school aged students in the Long Beach/Lakewood area. Student/Mentor pairs meet weekly at regular supervised locations.
