Eastern Screech Owl - Animal Ambassador

For All Species Education is looking for a couple more compassionate persons to assist us with our mission. We specialize in wildlife education and outreach, teaching people in the Central Ohio about our native species. We work with the goals of fostering appreciation, supporting conservation, and stimulating curiosity.

For All Species also provides a home to over a dozen non-releasable animal ambassadors who rely on us for their nutritional, medical, psychological and habitat needs.

What you can gain by joining us:

  • Learn to care for different types of animals: birds, reptiles, mammals
  • Gain experience toward careers in the animal fields
  • Participate in training and animal enrichment
  • Delight children and adults alike, provide unique experiences to inner city youth, and improve the lives of animals
  • Public speaking and teaching experience (if desired)

What we are seeking from volunteers:

  • Reliability of 2-3 hours of your time most weeks. Willingness to clean animal habitats for a portion of that time.
  • A desire to interact with non-domestic animals - much time is spent training and socializing them, but in ways much different from lap petting dogs and cats.
  • Optional: Aide in animal handling and answering questions about our ambassador animals at presentations and public displays. Assist in social media and fundraising efforts.

We are currently in need of folks with availability during any of these times.

Mondays - Animal Care, 9am-6pm
Tuesdays - Animal Care, 9am-2pm
Wednesdays - Animal Care, 9am-6pm
Thursdays - Animal Care, 9am-2pm
Fridays - Animal Care, 9am-6pm
Saturdays - Education volunteers, timing/date varies

If you are only available at other times and would like us to contact you when we have need of those please feel free to send us your info for future use.

*** Please note*** Due to the natural diets of many of our ambassadors, we do not have a nut-free environment.
