Do you have free time between 10 am & 1 pm during the week? If so, FLIFF (Broward County Film Society dba/Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival) has a wonderful volunteer opportunity for you to become involved with this extremely interesting, cultural organization, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3). The assignments are simple and you will be trained directly by the Director of Operations, making this opening even more interesting. Here’s a list of some of the things you would be doing:

First you will: answer office phones and assist callers with requests for information re theater films, features and times; answer questions about membership savings and opportunities (most calls are forwarded to the Director of Membership but you will be knowledgeable about membership details); direct callers to the proper personnel and be a courteous, helpful representative of FLIFF.

COMPUTER SKILLS are important, as is the ability to work independently inasmuch as there are times you might be working alone. Also, at FLIFF change is constant so flexibility is a requisite.

Do you like marketing and promotions? FLIFF shows films from all over the world and you can be an important part of getting this information out to the general public and special groups. For example, when we are screening an Italian film, you would call local Italian-related groups and businesses to make them aware of dates and times, and, in most cases, a special event happening with the film. In addition, you will be offering a special admission price which certainly makes your requests more appealing. Same procedure for whatever countries are being featured. These events are truly fun-filled and you will enjoy receiving thanks for being a part of telling everyone about them.

FLIFF theaters are in two locations:

Fort Lauderdale - 503 SE 6 Street - SAVOR CINEMA-formerly Cinema Paradiso

Hollywood, FL - 2008 Hollywood Blvd - CINEMA PARADISO

If you want to meet with us about volunteering for several days or just one each week, please contact MichelleF@fliff.com or Janet@fliff.com right away. We need your help ASAP!
