What is an Ambassador?

A Breath of Hope Ambassadors are volunteers who have been personally touched by cancer and want to volunteer their time to help others cope with lung cancer. Some are survivors, some have lost loved ones, but all Ambassadors are familiar with the pain and fear evoked by a cancer diagnosis

What do A Breath of Hope Ambassadors do?

Volunteer Ambassadors play a primary role in the ongoing fight against lung cancer.

Speaking: Ambassadors are the messengers who carry important information and resources that can save lives to the public. Raising awareness about lung cancer may take place through presentations given at service clubs, faith communities, brown bag lunches at businesses or neighborhood gatherings. Awareness is the key to early detection and reduced lung cancer deaths. Every time vital information is passed to new people, we have made a step forward.

About A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation

Location:

1001 Twelve Oaks Center Dr. Suite 1017, Wayzata, MN 55391, US

Mission Statement

Defeating Lung Cancer, Bringing Hope Worldwide! A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation fights lung cancer by funding innovative U.S. lung cancer research, raising awareness and supporting lung cancer patients and families.

Description

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation was founded in 2008 by a group of lung cancer patients who were concerned about the lack of awareness and research funding for lung cancer, the deadliest of all cancers. Societal blame has long held lung cancer in the shadow of other less deadly cancers, leaving a public that does not understand the risks, nor recognize symptoms. Currently, only 26.6% of those diagnosed will live five years following their diagnosis, and 60% of those diagnosed are nonsmokers. To raise awareness about lung cancer is to create a path toward improved wellness, earlier detection, and an increased survival rate. To this end, A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation holds events to raise awareness and help fund research focused on creating more survivors in our country. We also host programs that provide rides, companionship, and support groups to those who face cancer without the support they need.
