CAG is seeking an individual to serve as a Board member who has background in strategic marketing, which ideally includes a blend of marketing planning and execution, with direct experience at an advertising agency or on the client side, with branding, advertising and communications experience. Advocacy experience is also highly regarded. CAG desires assistance to expand its reach, awareness and membership statewide - including further penetration into underserved communities. Also important will be cultivating and maintaining relationships with funders, members, collaborating organizations and legislators as well as the ability to work at a quick pace, flexibly and nimbly. Excellent written and verbal skills are a must.

Responsibilities to include the following:

  • Collaborating with the Executive Director and Board leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications plan employing strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact, including hands-on experience with all appropriate aspects of social media
  • Managing the ongoing promotion of major programs and developing and executing messaging for new initiatives
  • Identifying and crafting stories that communicate the essence of the organization’s mission and successes
  • Working with the technology-development team to identify a set of meaningful touchpoints with our targets - new member joining, annual pledging - and creating an array of appropriate communications to be automated and sent, in order to stay current and ensure maximum engagement and support from our stakeholders.
  • Working with all CAG committees, specifically including Development and Programming, to assist with execution of their annual plans and to help further corporate engagement efforts
  • Identifying significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support CAG’s work, and creating and implementing plans to exploit them
