The Associates Council

The Associates Council (AC), our young professionals group, is a group of talented young professionals from across diverse sectors who lend their time, energy and expertise to support the organization’s mission. Members achieve this end through fundraising, awareness building, volunteering, and pro bono activities. While the AC provides a forum for committed young professionals to engage in meaningful work, it also offers members an array of benefits including professional networking and leadership development opportunities to further elevate their personal and professional standing.


  • Affiliation with The Children’s Aid Society-one of the largest, most reputable, and influential non-profits in New York City
  • Professional development opportunities through hands-on experiences in relation to non-profit organizations, fundraising, and leadership
  • Exclusive social and volunteer events for AC members and their guests
  • Opportunities to attend exclusive Children’s Aid events & programs and invitations to select donor events
  • Membership recognition on the Children’s Aid/AC website & social networking sites (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and other avenues if needed
  • Connection with like-minded, motivated peers, interested in raising awareness, making a change, and supporting the community

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Annual give or get contribution of at least $750
    • Give must include:
      • Purchase ticket(s) to the Annual Spring Fundraiser
      • $150 member contribution (100% tax deductible)-can be made in two consecutive monthly installments
    • Give/Get can include:
      • Monetary contributions of friends/family/colleagues to events (tickets, raffle tickets, sponsorships) OR other donations to the organization
      • Up to $250 worth of in-kind donations (raffle items or other items needed for events/activities) or products (product sponsorship for events)
      • Corporate sponsorship and matching gifts
  • Support the Annual Spring Fundraiser by making at least three asks (raffle, financial, or product sponsorship)
  • Facilitate a corporate introduction to help grow the AC and Children’s Aid network and resources
  • Attend at least two general meetings per year
  • Attend and support at least two of the following AC activities: volunteer event (volunteer day at a Children’s Aid site) or other AC specific event (happy hour, cultivation event, roundtable meeting, mini fundraiser)
  • Actively participate in at least one committee: Events, Membership Engagement, or Marketing
  • Introduce two new individuals to the Associates Council each year and share our recruitment ads on social media network at least twice per year
  • Complete an Associates Council Member Profile
