Position Summary

We are looking for an energetic and passionate individual to create meaningful volunteer experiences for corporate partners and large groups. As a Volunteer Outreach Coordinator, you will play a vital role in growing our community impact and helping organization’s expand their philanthropic reach. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing a system to recruit volunteers for our warehouse operations. This is an opportunity to network with a variety of local, corporate, and government organizations to help us expand our mission.

Job Responsibilities & Responsibilities

• Build a system to recruit and manage volunteer opportunities for larger groups

• Identify and outreach to organizations to coordinate volunteer days

• Develop a curriculum for work-based learning for volunteers - including credentials and certificates

• Work with the operations team to schedule and prepare for volunteer events

• Coordinate with HR about how to properly qualify volunteers

• Work with the Grants team to explore opportunities for federally funded volunteer programs

• Track volunteer hours and attendance on a regular basis

• Ensure volunteers practice safe working techniques within the warehouse

Qualifications:

• Charisma: we’re looking for a personable and high-energy candidate that is able to outreach effectively

• Experience with event planning: an ideal candidate is able to schedule, prep, and execute events with large groups

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Knack for social media/ marketing to entice potential volunteer groups

• Experience with project management

This position starts as an unpaid intern. We aim to hire the Volunteer Outreach Coordinator after the internship period based on how well they fit.
