Imagine being a woman in your 90's and not having many friends. Imagine living in a facility where some of your fellow residents can't communicate. Imagine still being mentally active and needing stimulation. Imagine this was you.
You'd like to have some company right? You'd want someone to visit and play your favorite card game, wouldn't you?
You can be that volunteer to visit with our client (in her 90's) who likes to read and play cards. Occasionally there may be a memory lapse but all in all she's still healthy, aware and needs some company.
She's requested a woman to come and visit a few times a week for an hour or two. You can play cards, discuss books and chat about current events.
She lives in Lynnwood. If you get involved we'll furnish the address.

Mission Statement
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Snohomish County matches skills/training and preferences of persons 55+ to available volunteer opportunities and promotes their voluntary service as a valuable community resource.
Description
RSVP matches personal interests, skills and lifelong experiences with non-profit public organizations at over 116 different partner agencies, including non-profits, throughout the county. Benefits of being an RSVP volunteer are: ~excess insurance coverage including Liability, Auto, and Accident. ~partial reimbursement for transporatation costs to and from volunteer stations, subject to certain regulations and limits. ~ongoing recognition and Annual Recognition Event to RSVP volunteers. The only agency tracking and reporting the volunteer activities of persons age 55 and older through the National Senior Corps, RSVP promotes retired and senior persons as viable members of the community, able to share their skills, time and experience through volunteer service.
