NY Senior Medicare Patrol
The Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) is a nationwide effort to educate and empower seniors to protect themselves against healthcare fraud, learn to detect errors on their medical statements and report Medicare abuse when suspected.
With so many scams targeting seniors, volunteers have the unique opportunity to help stop healthcare fraud at the source! By hosting Education Sessions, we teach seniors a variety of tips to ensure their healthcare benefits are safe & personal information is secure from scammers.
In an effort to reach out to limited/non-English speaking communities, we are seeking Spanish speakers to assist us!
What would a volunteer do?
Volunteers translate education sessions into Spanish for our various audiences. Education sessions are hosted all throughout the NYC area!
No prior healthcare education? No problem! New York Senior Medicare Patrol will provide comprehensive training to interested volunteers.
