The VISTA Leader opportunity is a 1 year, full-time volunteer position with the newly established Concho Valley VISTA Placement Project at Angelo State University. The Leader will be encouraged to inject their energy and ideas into all aspects of the management and development of the Project. The VISTA Leader will serve as a recruiter, coordinator, trainer and resource provider to enhance the project's success and sustainability.
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, hands-on, organized professional with a positive, can-do attitude. The Leader must enjoy the challenges and rigors of a growing and evolving service-oriented organization and will need to have flexibility, focus and commitment. To be considered for the VISTA Leader position, applicants must have completed at least one year of national service (VISTA, AmeriCorps or Peace Corps). Other VISTA Service programs will be available throughout the year.
AmeriCorps VISTA 'Volunteers' are eligible to receive several benefits through their term of service:
In-Service Benefits- Living allowance of $11,880 per year before taxes ($990/month)

- Leave benefits - 10 personal days and 10 medical/sick days per year
- Student loan forbearance or deferment*
- Relocation allowance*

Description
The Concho Valley VISTA Placement Project is a new program working to place VISTA Members in San Angelo and the surrounding communities. VISTA Members will join organizations and help them put plans for growth and increased capacity in to action and help them serve even more people in our communities.
