The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. The March of Dimes carries out this mission through community services, advocacy, research, education and support.
The Special Events Intern, under guidance of the Development Manager, will work to support the Signature Chefs Auction in Arizona.
Responsibilities may include:
- Researching prospective special event partnership opportunities
- Working with Development Manager and Specialist on auction procurement
- Working with external vendors
- Working with event committee and attending committee meetings
- Recruiting and organizing volunteers to staff event
- Developing collateral materials and emails for events
- Developing and implementing social media plan for events
- Developing a full logistical plan/ timeline for event to ensure all event details are in a master working document
- Creating power point presentations for event program
- Entering data into database
- Attending special events
- Other duties as assigned
- Excellent typing and computer skills, MS Office Suite a plus
- Comfortable making phone calls to community partners and constituents
- Willingness and eagerness to collaborate with other members of Development team to achieve its objectives
- 8-10 hours per week; schedule can be flexible, with potential for some remote work
- September through November - Fall Internship. (Start dates and hours may be flexible.)
- Must provide own transportation to our office. (3550 N. Central Avenue, Suite 610, Phoenix, AZ 85012)
- This internship is unpaid

We research the problems that threaten our babies an work on preventing them.
Description
March of Dimes has fundraising events troughout the year across the state. Our signature event, March for Babies, is held in 8 cities in Arizona.
March of Dimes is a volunteer-driven organization, we cannot accomplish our mission without you! Thank you for your interest in helping us give every baby a healthy start in life!
