A 73 year old woman living with ALS has lost the ability to communicate verbally. She has an iPad that she can use to speak for her but she and her husband aren’t tech savvy.
They’re looking for someone who can visit a few times a week to teach them to use the iPad and help her practice with the apps. The speech generating apps are easy to use if you have any experience with iPads or iPhones. They hope a volunteer will stick with them until they’re confident in their skills; this will likely take a month or two.
This opportunity is part of our family assistance program. Find out why this program rocks and how you can be a part of it by visiting our website [tinyurl.com/ALS-FAP].
