About

We are currently looking for Veteran Volunteers to visit patients at Missouri Veterans Home located at 10600 Lewis and Clark Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63136. Veterans enjoy receiving visitors-people who will listen to their fading memories and reminiscences. Some veterans need transportation to appointments, shopping and other events. Others need help applying for benefits or researching other kinds of assistance. There are many ways Veteran Volunteers can help veteran patients.

Volunteer orientation teaches the skills required to be a hospice volunteer. VITAS Veteran Volunteers are further trained to meet specific end-of-life needs of veterans to improve their quality of life. Time and dates are ongoing and flexible. This is a great opportunity for you to give back to veterans. By taking a small amount of time out of your busy week you can make the biggest difference in another’s life.

VITAS takes pride in its volunteers, and we welcome you to become part of our team. There are many locations throughout the area you can choose from. Your commitment is completely up to you, whether you spend one day a week or one day a month. For more information, please contact Emily Jokerst at (314) 682-3400 or at Emily.Jokerst@Vitas.com
