Sankanac CSA is a 300 member CSA (community supported agriculture) embedded within Camphill Village Kimberton Hills, an intentional lifesharing community which includes adults with special needs. Apprentices at Sankanac CSA receive strong hands-on training by working alongside experienced mentor farmers through the North American Biodynamic Apprenticeship Program. In addition they receive a solid theoretical foundation in biodynamic and organic agriculture through a two-week-long "Winter Intensive" study at the Nature Institute and Hawthorne Valley in NY state, weekly tutorials and planning meetings, farm tours, and ongoing agrarian and anthroposophical study groups throughout the year.

Apprentices work year-round, April to March, including the 24-week summer CSA and planning, planting, harvesting and maintenance throughout the year. Apprentices also have hands-on experience with draft horses and learn about horse-powered farming, in addition to tractor work. Apprentices live in a village house and share life with people of varying abilities. Apprentices receive room and board, free access to village vehicles, and a monthly stipend of $175. They will receive health coverage after 3 months. They may be asked to help in the house they live in. They have one full day per week off and 21 days of vacation per year.
