Mission Statement
Our mission is to raise awareness of addiction recovery, mental illnesses, and the stigma surrounding them by hosting active events and supporting those that need help.
Description
Active For Recovery is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and our mission is to raise awareness of addiction recovery, mental illnesses, and the stigma surrounding them by hosting active events and supporting those that need help. We build relationships with organizations that share our mission, so that we can be a resource if someone needs help.
Our Annual Bike Ride Event is hosted during National Recovery Month in September and proceeds goes toward a fun that our board members manage. Our board awards grants from the fun to assist those in treatment and on their road to recovery.
W e believe that individuals who are addicted to drugs or alcohol may also have a co-occurring mental illness. Additionally, we believe that being active may help individuals recover faster and may even help prevent addiction.
