Our 3rd annual Stand Up and Dance with the Placer County Stars event will take place on March 25, 2017 at Orchard Creek Lodge in Sun City, Lincoln Hills and we need your help. This event is our signature fundraising event of the year and offers a great deal of fun and excitement for all involved. It is a great way to help survivors and a great opportunity to join a fun team of party planners, learn some new skills and make some new friends. We are looking for creative, energetic and passionate people to help us take this event to the next level and need your expertise and talents. We have broken the tasks down as follows. Each task is considered a team and can use multiple volunteers. We are always keen to hear and share new ideas so speak up and join us in making this a memorable night for all.
- Day of the Event - setup, clean up, registration, checkout
- Recruiting and organizing dancers
- Obtaining and coordinating large auction items
- Obtaining and coordinating silent auction items
- Audio/Visual, music, sound system and DJ
- Photographer/Videographer
- Hair and Makeup
- Lighting
- Fundraising activities
- Decorations and table displays
- Awards and trophies
- Event program design and printing
- Entertainment, raffle

We are looking forward to an exciting 16-week experience. Some tasks don't require regular meetings, but if you are able to meet weekly then we will have lots to share and lots of fun.

Description
Stand Up Placer is dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Placer County. Volunteers are imperative to helping us accomplish our goals as an agency and in giving the support that is needed to our clients. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities that include Crisis Line Counselor, Clerical Assistant, Community Outreach Presenter, Legal Advocate, Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Group Facilitator, Handy Person, Thrift Store Associate, and Event Assistant. Those that wish to work directly with clients will need to undergo our 68-hr Crisis Intervention Training. The curriculum for this training is mandated by the Office of Emergency Services. The training is offered at NO-COST to volunteers and is a great asset to anyone seeking a career or pursuing a degree in law enforcement, social work, social services, psychology, sociology, counseling, etc. Volunteering with Stand Up Placer will give you hands on experience.
