Duties and Responsibilities

Provide on-call evening and weekend coverage for the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center (JWRC) 24-hour victim assistance helpline, including providing advocacy, information, resources and referrals to law enforcement and families reaching out to JWRC for support. Training specific to missing and exploited persons will be provided by JWRC.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Completion of the 40-hour sexual assault advocacy training
  • Prior crisis services experience
  • Ability to be available 6:00 pm-6:00 am when on-call
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and knowledge of local and state resources
  • Comfort and competency interacting with people from a wide range of professions, backgrounds, cultures, and disciplines
  • Understanding of and willingness to provide culturally informed and sensitive services
  • Willingness to be a mandated reporter
  • Ability to be on-call at least one weekend/month
  • Ability to attend one 2 hour nighttime meeting/month
  • An awareness and practice of self-care
