Onedia Community Mansion House seeks an web designer with demonstrated knowledge, skills and ability with interface design and information systems for multiple platforms and serving mixed networks.
The qualified person for this opportunity will be skilled with HTTP and FTP service and client applications, and with multiple operating environments including variations of Unix (e.g. Linux, BSD, MacOSX) and with MS Windows services.
S/he will administer web servers, file servers, content management and database management systems, including PastPerfect, FileMarker Pro, and Dupral. The successful candidate should also display competency with TCP/IP hardware layers including switched and wireless Ethernet.
We offer intellectually interesting involvement connecting the 19th and 21st centuries, a lively working environment, and the opportunity to contribute to public history while expanding one’s resume.
Oneida Community Mansion House is a historic house museum and National Historic Landmark site of the 19 th century utopian Oneida Community. Our buildings and collections comprise important built and material culture of 19 th and early 20 th century alternative American societies.
Our public and educational programs are presented on-site, off-site and on-line, and rely on various software and hardware systems to serve growing numbers of users, of all ages, and from many parts of the world.
The stories of 19th century utopians are historically important and highly relevant to the contemporary world. Interpreting and facilitating the discussion and of those stories is what we do.

Mission Statement
Using its historic site and collections, the non-profit Oneida Community Mansion House shares the story of the Oneida Community - one of the most radical and successful of the 19th century social experiments - to explore pressing social issues that still confront audiences today.
Description
The Oneida Community Mansion House was the residence of the 19th century utopian Oneida Community (1848 - 1880). OCMH preserves, collects and interprets material culture, intangible heritage, and five historic buildings, situated on 33 acres of landscaped lawns and gardens. OCMH is a National Historic Landmark and chartered by the New York State Department of Education.
The House is open for visitors Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, and Sunday from Noon until 5:00 pm. Guided tours are provided (with admission) Wednesday through Saturday at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, and Sunday at 2:00 pm.
