Urgent: English as a Second Language Instructor for in-person classes

Manos de Cristo (Manos) is a nonprofit that offers ESL classes to students in Austin, Texas. Our ESL classes range from Levels Basic through High Intermediate. Our growing education program relies entirely on volunteer instructors, and that is why we need you!

Our ESL teachers are offered opportunities to teach and gain experience in lesson planning, interpersonal communication and exposure to cultural diversity. Teachers will prepare and administer lessons from reading materials and bring the English language to life from their own real world applications.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to commit to teaching, in-person, once or twice a week, Monday and/or Wednesday from 6:30-9:00 pm. Classes will start on February 12 and will run through May 9, 2024. Previous ESL teaching experience, and if you are bilingual or know some Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement. Volunteers will receive curriculum guides, and additional learning materials from the Manos Resource Library at the Department of Education.
