Currently Seeking Sunday Afternoon Visitation Supervisors. 2:30-4:30 at our location -desperatly.

Children's Rights Collaborative provides supervised visitations for parents and children who, without our center AND our volunteers, would not see each other at all. We provide a safe, secure, child friendly site for visits to happen. This is a safe volunteer opportunity, We are currently in a crisis situation here. We have many parents and children waiting months, for this shift, because we don't have enough volunteers. You WILL make a difference in a childs life.

Our Volunteers sit with the families and take notes, not interacting with the family. Keeping in mind the families that are here want to be here they are not forced so they are a happy group most of the time. The notes are then typed and can be requested by attorneys, guardians, magistrates and judges. Volunteers can definitely, and we encourage them to play with the kids before and after the visits while they wait for a parent.

Volunteers need to have a background check done. Lucas County Sheriff’s office does these for us at no cost to the volunteer. You must be 19 or older. Neat handwriting comes in handy, must have good hearing, patience to sit for 1-3 hours, be able to climb stairs and possibly do some walking, we have a gym and a playground. You must be able to be impartial and non-judgmental. This is a great place for seniors, retirees, civic groups, college students, franternities, sororities etc. We have no required days or hours you must sign up for. You sign up for your own hours, we do have visits that are shorter than 3 hours too. We train you. First we would have you come in and just observe with another volunteer, you might find this isn’t the place for you and this way you and CRC know right away.
