What would I do as a volunteer?
As a volunteer, you can assist our ESL teacher with lessons, assignments, activities, and games. Occasionally you may sit with specific students to help them catch up or work on something with which they are struggling.
Other duties may include:
- Leading activities/games
- Giving/grading exams
- Making calls to parents or students
Why should I volunteer as a Youth ESL assistant?
Our youth assistants truly make a difference in the lives of the students with whom they work. Our students are hard-working young people who want to improve their English and do better in school. As a volunteer you will meet amazing kids from all over the world, get to know other passionate and driven people, and truly improve the lives of immigrant children in Baltimore.
