At St. James Cathedral Immigrant Assistance, our mission is to build an inclusive society and that means you! Volunteers share essential skills and knowledge and gain rich, cross-cultural experience and understanding. With newly acquired information and tools, immigrants and refugees in turn contribute to and enrich our communities.
Immigrants and refugees from around the world seek a better life in the Pacific Northwest. Who can blame them? Great weather (usually), vibrant cultural and art scene, terrific outdoor recreation opportunities, tolerant society... Help our newest neighbors learn about and engage in these amenities by providing 1-1 English language tutoring and 1-1 citizenship preparation. We provide free training. You get to experience a rich, cross-cultural relationship with someone you'd probably otherwise never meet.
