Volunteers who are caring, compassionate, and trustworthy to help patients in several different programs such as the patient and family program, Bereavement program, administrative help in the office, or help at community events, volunteers do have to meet certain criteria such as a background check, drug test, volunteer training, a 2 step tb test, and cpr class.Southerncare covers the expense of these requirements. you must be 16 or older to volunteer! anyone 18 and under must have signed permission slip that we provide by parent or guardian to volunteer. all volunteers are required to do a monthly educational inservice we provide.

we are also looking for alabama licensed cosmotologist ( hairdresser) to go into patients homes that might be bed bound to cut or fix their hair. Gentlemen who can do carpentry work to build wheelchair ramps when needed.
