Special Olympics Florida -Volusia County is seeking volunteers to serve as coaches.
Special Olympics Florida -Volusia County has opportunities for coaches and assistant coaches for swimming. Dates and times are flexible.
Coaches are the key to a successful sports experience for the Special Olympics athlete. As a coach, you teach sports skills and model good sportsmanship and character. You give Special Olympics athletes the most immediate awareness of their self-worth, ability, courage, and capacity to grow and improve both on the playing field and off. Coaches will be provided training and sports seasons run for 2-3 months.
Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and athletic competitions in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. We rely on more than 21,000 volunteers throughout the state each year who serve as coaches, help with events, assist on committees and so much more. Description
Special Olympics Florida provides sports training and Olympic-style competition to more than 60,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities throughout the state. Special Olympics Florida is a Level I Accredited Program (highest level of accreditation granted by SOI) and is divided into 11 area programs, which cover over 55 counties.
