Working closely with the Membership and Marketing Manager, the Administrative Intern will perform professional administrative work, including maintaining AFG’s databases and the Girls’ Service Directory, website development, and other administrative tasks as needed.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of skills required to manage the day-to-day operations of a rapidly growing non-profit. Mission Statement

Alliance for Girls mobilizes girls’ champions to address barriers facing girls, create conditions for their success, and advance systemic change to achieve equity. Our vision is to advance equitable communities in which every girl thrives.

Description

We are the largest regional alliance of girl-serving organizations and leaders in the country. Our membership includes 100+ organizations that employ 2,400 people with more than 5,100 volunteers serving more than 300,000 girls across six Bay Area counties.

The issues facing girls and young women are complex and multi-faceted. Alliance for Girls (AFG) is transforming the girls’ service sector from one of siloed, single-issue organizations, to a strong, connected network of organizations, with the necessary complexity and collective power to holistically meet girls’ needs and eliminate systemic barriers to their success.

Together we’re enabling new, integrated models for supporting girls with strong leadership, collaborative programming, original research and intergenerational, cross-disciplinary advocacy strategies.

We Believe:

  • That those closest to the problem are closest to the solution
  • In moving beyond the gender binary
  • That diverse leadership is more effective leadership
  • In the power of the collective
*"Girls" refers to gender expansive youth (cis girls, trans girls, non-binary youth, gender non-conforming youth, gender queer youth and any girl-identified youth).
