Volunteers can fulfill different roles in different capacities:
* Support for patients - provide companionship visits to patients on hospice care. This can range from just chatting about life experiences to playing music for patients, writing letters for patients, going for walks with patients, or even reading with patients.
* Respite for family - sometimes families could benefit knowing that there is a caring person with their loved one for an hour or two so that the family member can run an errand or perhaps you could run an errand knowing that you are helping someone who truly could benefit from your kindness.
*Bereavement support - families may need someone to hear them out, listen to their grief, and lean on someone who is emotionally available to be strong for them.
*Veteran-to-Veteran - the bond that lies among those who have served our country is one that runs deep. Veterans can be there for other Veterans to honor their sacrifices and service.

Hospice volunteer provides caring, support, non-medical services to individuals and families coping with dying and grief. They promote education and dialogue within the community about end-of-life issues."
Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated by the patients, their families and the Bristol Hospice Team that you will become part of.
Volunteers are an integral part of Hospice Care.
