This event is for the Florida Panhandle and we are reaching out to everyone from Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties. The WalkAbout will take place in Navarre at Navarre High School, centraly located between the three counties and easy for everyone to attend.
No matter where you live in the panhandle, there are opportunites to volunteer. Your time benefits all Floridians, to include our military, veterans and all families that have encountered a brain injury. We all know someone who has bonked their head, from a mild concussion to a severe traumatic brain injury, loved ones who have suffered from a stroke or a medical condition. Please show your support and help by bringing awareness to brain injury through your precious time.
This volunteer opportunity is to assist with the fundraising, planning, community involvment, delivering posters, passing out flyers, telemarketing, sponsorships, donations, and day of event set-up, activities and clean up.
Looking for ways to give back to your community, we can find an activity for everyone to participate in.
There are a variety of jobs to volunteer for from January through March 2017. Something for everyone!

Description
BIAF is a non-profit organization, founded in 1985 by the mother of a young man who sustained a traumatic brain injury from an automobile crash. It is an organization of individuals with brain injuries, their families, and professionals working to help people cope with the long term effects of brain injury. BIAF is the official state association of the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) in Alexandria, VA and as such is tied to a nationwide network. The organization assists individuals with brain injuries, their families and professionals by providing: * Statewide Information and Resource Center * Education and Training * Support Services * Toll-free Help line * Awareness and Prevention Programs * Legislative Advocacy All resources are provided free of charge to persons with brain injuries and their families who request information. Anyone who might benefit from our support services, educational materials, or other resource information is encouraged to participate in our organization.
