Project K9 Hero Foundation Logo

Project K9 Hero is a newly founded 501(c)3 national non-profit organization that ensures the best quality of life for retired Police K9's and Military Working Dogs. It is our mission to provide assistance with medical costs, food, and end of duty services for each dog in our program. Since there are no public funds for retired K9's, we rely on donors to fund our project through generous donations and contributions.

It is the goal of our foundation to educate the public on the costs and responsibilities that occur after adopting a retired K-9, and to ensure that each retired hero is rewarded the way of life that they deserve for their faithful and loyal service.

The ideal volunteer will share our passion and have a strong interest in helping the foundation grow so we are able to continue to accept more K9 Heroes into our program. A fundraising coordinator should be creative and personable, with great social networking skills. They should have prior experience in organizing and contributing to events, possess great time management skills and be well organized. It is important to have good reporting skills and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Previous experience with non-profit fund raising is strongly encouraged, but not required.

Principle Duties:

· To report and work in partnership with the National Director of Fundraising in developing and implementing a fundraising plan for your local area;

· To identify and develop suitable fundraising opportunities, new projects and funds;

· To organize and manage fundraising events on a local level;

· To manage other volunteers assisting with events and fundraising in your local area;

· To cultivate and nurture successful and productive relationships with current and potential corporate/foundation sponsors and individual donors;

· To maintain organized and efficient records of all activities and contacts;

· To expand the network of Project K9 Hero through the development of new and beneficial relationships;

· To represent and be the "face" of Project K9 Hero on a local level.
