We are looking for a dedicated Editor for our blog: woodlandpattern.wordpress.com.
With your help, we can put together a team to produce these sections of the blog, including:
- Reviews Editor - commissioning and editing reviews; we have had great success building relationships with small presses. Often times we are able to get a review copy for the reviewer, who then gets to keep the book
- First Tuesdays Editor - highlights one local poet on the first Tuesday of each month
- Interviews Editor
- April Poetry Month
Amanda Reavey, Director of Marketing & Development, began this blog in September, 2014 as a project for engaging the community. At this time, we would be very grateful to have a volunteer take the helm.
We would prefer to a volunteer who has experience with online blogging, editing, and writing, particularly for online literary magazines. However, we are also willing to work with someone who is a self-starter.
This can be done remotely, though we do ask for a monthly check-in at the store, if possible (or a phone call).

Mission Statement
Woodland Pattern Book Center is dedicated to the discovery, cultivation and presentation of contemporary literature and the arts.
Description
Woodland Pattern Book Center was founded as a non-profit organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Riverwest neighborhood by Anne Kingsbury and Karl Gartung in 1979.
The center houses a bookstore with over 25,000 small press titles otherwise unavailable in our area. Because we are nonprofit, our inventory decisions aren't dictated entirely by commercialism. As booksellers and as presenters of art and literature, we want people to know that there is more than what you see at your chain book store, more than you are taught in school, more than what is reviewed in the papers. We hope to act as a catalyst, putting readers together with small press literature. Come browse our selection of poetry, chapbooks, fine print materials, broadsides, and multicultural literature. We think you'll be impressed!
Our space also includes an art gallery where we present exhibitions, artist talks, readings, experimental films, concerts and writing workshops for adults and children.
We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization.
