We are hosting our 40th Annual International Water-Media Exhibition from Sunday March 12 - Friday April 7th.
Within this time frame, we are taking in local and international art work, hanging artwork, extending gallery hours, hosting two receptions, and taking down artwork to prepare for shipment back to artists.

IE VOLUNTEER TASKS:
Uncrate paintings: Friday 3/10 (9-3pm): uncrate and record accepted paintings. Need 9 volunteers.
Judging/Hanging: Sat 3/11 (10-12, 1-5pm): hang artwork in gallery. Need 4 volunteers in am and 4 volunteers in pm.
Opening show and reception: Sunday 3/12 (1-5pm): demo - greet guests, help with name tags, pass out surveys; reception - need 3 volunteers in kitchen, 2 greeters, 1 art sales, 2 gallery workers.
Art Lovers Reception, Thursday 3/16: greet guests, prepare snacks and champagne. Need 4 volunteers.
Gallery Extended hours: Friday 3/17, 24, 31 (3-6pm), Sat 3/18, 25, 4/1 (3-6pm), Sun 3/19, 26, 4/2 (1-5pm): greet guests, answer questions about sales. Need 2 volunteers per shift.
Crate paintings: Friday 4/7 (9-3pm): pack and crate paintings to return to artists. Need 9 volunteers.

Mission Statement
The purpose of the Watercolor Art Society-Houston is to further the cause and interest in watermedia art through teaching, programs, demonstrations, outreach and exhibitions.
Description
Founded in 1975, the Watercolor Art Society - Houston (WAS-H) is a non-profit organization with over 600 members. For over 40 years, WAS-H has brought the excitement of water-media to the greater Houston area with outstanding exhibitions, world-class instruction and dedicated community outreach. Year-round opportunities are provided to every level of painter, from novice to the seasoned expert. Art lovers can also enjoy year-round exhibitions in our gallery in the Museum District.
In addition to the Juried Exhibitions above, WAS-H has monthly meetings with demonstrations by known artists. Classes and Workshops all year. Group painting encounters include Open Studio afternoons, Wednesday Life Figure Lab, Paint-Outs and Paint-Ins, a free Seniors Class, and an Outreach Program for volunteers to work with children.
