This is an unusual opportunity. The Pottery Studio seeks a volunteer to help with odd jobs that range from the simple to the more complex like mechanical problem solving. The candidate does not necessarily need to fulfill all of the tasks below. So a couple of volunteers with different skill sets would also suffice. Ongoing availability throughout a term (approximately 12 weeks) for four hours a week is desired. All tools and materials will be provided. In exchange, and depending on the amount of work performed, the volunteer would be granted free studio time during available hours or a free class. Tasks may include those below and others as they come up:

  1. Repair the fountain pump on the patio.
  2. Design and Build a grinding Station.
  3. Design and build two Kiln Damper adjusters.
  4. Install permanent lighting in the ware cage.
  5. Rebuild the bucket cupboard to the left of the sink.
  6. Add bracing to the totem pole arrangement in the front garden. Include additional pieces to the totem (outside art fixture).
  7. Resurface the work benches in front of the potter’s wheels.
  8. Test glazing

Candidates will be interviewed by the Pottery Instructor.
