If you are patient, understanding, friendly, caring, and available just one morning per week, you can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve.
Our wonderful volunteers provide personalized weekday calls to homebound elderly, providing social contact from someone who also listens for signals indicating a homebound participant requires additional support. In many cases, this weekly phone call is the only outside contact these people have all week. We provide all training and great support.
Your fellow volunteers on the team are a really friendly, fun group. You'll have a great time interacting with them as you do this important work. Also, as a thank you, we take our volunteers out for special outings, whether a trip to the New York Botanical Gardens for a private tour and lunch, a holiday luncheon, or other activities.
