Help Playtime Project improve our Pre-Teen/Teen program room at DC General Shelter! We have contractors coming in to repair the floors, and we will need volunteers to help us box and move items from the room to a nearby closet beforehand. Volunteers must be ages 15 and older and able to lift heavy items.

The mission of Playtime Project (Playtime) is to cultivate resilience in children experiencing family housing insecurity by providing and expanding access to transformative play experiences.

Description

Playtime Project is a small staff team supported by countless volunteers providing weekly activities, healthy snacks, and opportunities for play to the children at shelters, schools, and community spaces in DC and Prince George's County, MD. Through weekly children’s programs at multiple locations, volunteers provide playful games, chances to learn through art, movement and imaginative play, one-on-one attention and caring adult supervision for children.
