Looking to invest your time and talents in a way that makes a lasting impact? By providing your expertise finance to Circle of Peace International (COPI), you can ensure that orphans and low-income students in Africa get the key to a better life: a quality education.
COPI is the outgrowth of one woman’s determination to provide a better life for children in her hometown, Makindye, Uganda. In 1994 Joanita Senoga, a second grade public school teacher, could no longer abide her school’s practice of expelling children for failure to pay school fees. She started a school that provides education to children who want to learn -- irrespective of their ability to pay.
COPI is searching for a Grant Writer with excellent writing abilities. The Grant Writer will be responsible for research, writing, submission, and oversight of grants awarded to COPI. The Grant Writer reports to the Director of Development, attends monthly team meetings, researches and helps to identify which grants would be helpful to COPI’s mission, develop and submit grants, and follows up accordingly.
The Grant Writer must be a person with access to grant databases. Excellent computer skills and problem solving skills are required. An appreciation for the mission, vision and values of Circle of Peace International and Circle of Peace School is a must. Familiarity with the nonprofit sector would be a plus. We seek a person residing in the Richmond, VA area. A minimum of a 12 month commitment is required.
If you fit this bill, we would love to hear from you. Just think, if all children in low-income countries could acquire basic reading skills, 171 million people could be lifted out of poverty. What better way to invest your time and talents!
