If a public health emergency or disaster happened near where you live, would you volunteer to help? Join the Macomb County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps before a disaster happens! The mission of the Macomb County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps is to strengthen the community by recruiting and training non-medical and medical volunteers that can be ready and able to provide organized assistance to the Health Department and surrounding communities in the event of a county wide emergency, large scale disaster, terrorist event or disease outbreak.

Level of Commitment
 There is no minimum volunteer hour requirement.
 You will receive emails about meeting, training, and event opportunities.
 You choose the events you want to attend based on your availability.
 You agree to be contacted in the event of an emergency activation, but you are not obligated to deploy.

Volunteer Benefits
 Free training to prepare yourself and your family for emergencies
 Opportunities throughout the year to support the Health Department with Youth Preparedness presentations at local elementary schools, community outreach and education
 Involvement with community organizations such as the Homeless Coalition and Future Health Occupation Students (HOSA)
 Participation in emergency drills
 Assisting during county-wide emergencies
