If a public health emergency or disaster happened near where you live, would you volunteer to help? Join the Macomb County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps before a disaster happens! The mission of the Macomb County Health Department Medical Reserve Corps is to strengthen the community by recruiting and training non-medical and medical volunteers that can be ready and able to provide organized assistance to the Health Department and surrounding communities in the event of a county wide emergency, large scale disaster, terrorist event or disease outbreak.
Level of Commitment
There is no minimum volunteer hour requirement.
You will receive emails about meeting, training, and event opportunities.
You choose the events you want to attend based on your availability.
You agree to be contacted in the event of an emergency activation, but you are not obligated to deploy.
Free training to prepare yourself and your family for emergencies
Opportunities throughout the year to support the Health Department with Youth Preparedness presentations at local elementary schools, community outreach and education
Involvement with community organizations such as the Homeless Coalition and Future Health Occupation Students (HOSA)
Participation in emergency drills
Assisting during county-wide emergencies
