About ELEVATE KIDS

Location:

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to provide handmade beds, new bedding, and other resources to families and young adults involved with Child Protective Services (CPS).

Description

Elevate Kids is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was launched to support kids who do not have a bed to sleep in. Knowing that sometimes a child without a bed could be the tipping point of being placed with kinship or complete strangers, building beds became an apparent mission.

We focus primarily on Preservation, Placements, and young adults who "Age Out" of the system.

Preservation: Elevate Kids will be there prior to the placement process by working with the families who are in the Family Based Safety Service (FBSS) program administered by DFPS. The FBSS program is designed to maintain children in their homes by strengthening the ability of families to protect their children and reduce threats to their safety. By providing something as simple as a bed or playpen, we can potentially prevent the removal and placement of a child into Substitute or Foster Care.

Placements:We make ourselves available when a child or young adult is in the placement process. There are numerous placement scenarios when a child might need a bed, crib, playpen and other necessities. Most of the time, the need must be met within 24 hours.

Aging Out:These are the young adults who were in Substitute Care (to include Foster Care, etc) and did not find a Forever Family to call their own.
