Protect our environment and the special world in which we live.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) wants you! As a group leader, you will help launch and sustain a chapter in the southern suburbs of the metro Denver area. This will be an opportunity to use your creativity and passion for nurturing citizen engagement while slowing the effects of climate change. You will have the opportunity to develop or maintain your managerial, marketing, facilitation and interpersonal skills. Together we can protect our beautiful ecosystems, livelihoods and way of life. Please respond to our posting for an invitation to learn more.
Who are CCL group leaders?
People from all walks of life who understand the urgency of the climate change problem, who appreciate that national policy decisions are a critical part of getting to a path to lowered CO2 emissions, and who value a nonpartisan approach to citizen engagement and climate solutions.
What does the position involve?
A willingness to help build and lead a local group. Groups Leaders can be individuals, co-leaders or a leadership team.
Set up the local monthly meeting, usually on the second Saturday of each month.
What are CCL’s core activities?
Taking action to create political will, specifically moving Congress in the direction of passing climate legislation. To accomplish this, we engage in these core activities:
1. Lobbying members of Congress and their staff
2. Publishing letters to the Editor and op-eds
3. Grassroots outreach (tabling and presentations)
4. Seeking endorsements from community leaders
5. Chapter Development
CCL provides ongoing training for group leaders via national and state level conference calls and state, regional and national conferences. Initial training is provided in person, one-on-one and group settings.

Take Action to Solve the Climate Crisis: Dr. James Hansen, climate scientist: "Most impressive is the work of the Citizens' Climate Lobby, a relatively new, fastgrowing, nonpartisan, nonprofit group with [250+] chapters across the United States and Canada. If you want to join the fight to save the planet, to save creation for your grandchildren, there is no more effective step you could take than becoming an active member of this group." Citizens' Climate Lobby is committed to two purposes: (1) to create the political will for a stable and sustainable climate and (2) to empower individuals to have a breakthrough in exercising their personal and political power.
Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. In order to generate the political will necessary for passage of Carbon Fee and Dividend legislation (H.R.763) we train and support volunteers to engage elected officials, the media and the public. During the global Covid-19 pandemic, in-person meetings are on pause but there are many ways to train and volunteer virtually. We welcome anyone who is serious about solving climate change as a volunteer. And we work with members of Congress across the political spectrum to find common ground on climate change solutions.
