The Village Project's tutoring program, The Mae C. Johnson Education and Cultural Enrichment Academy, is always looking for volunteers who have a passion for helping students achieve academic excellence and success in life. Volunteers from the community make a difference in the lives of the students, acting not only as their tutors, but mentors as well.
As a tutor, you will bring your own enriching and unique experiences to the students, helping them to achieve skills for academic success and prepare for the next steps in their futures and education.
Your key responsibility as a tutor is to help students with various subjects. The students in the program range from 1st-12th grades and subject matter varies from social sciences, English, reading, math, writing, etc.
We ask that you make a commitment of at least one day a week. We are open Monday-Friday with some weekend enrichment activities. Your commitment to the students is always noticed and always very much appreciated by them.
