We are seeking steady volunteers to assist our Development department with data entry and clerical tasks. A short screening is required to determine if this volunteer opportunity is possible for interested individuals. If interested, please contact Georgie Nguyen, the volunteer coordinator at (209) 467-0703 to schedule a screening date. Volunteer opportunities are not a guarentee.

Volunteer hours are available between: 8:30am - 4:00pm Mon-Fri

Volunteer tasks may include:

Data Entry:

  • Input volunteer application information into database
  • Input statistics and other data.

Clerical:

  • Prepare and send letters and envelopes
  • Prepare volunteer packets and Community Service (CS) Program packets
  • Alphabetize and file volunteer applications and forms
  • Organizing and tallying volunteer hours
  • Assisting with other office tasks

Requirements:

  1. At least 18 years of age
  2. Intermediate typing skills
  3. Accuracy in data entry
  4. Adhere to SMDR confidentiality guidelines
  5. Computer Literacy - Microsoft suite knowledge

Mission Statement

St. Mary's Dining Room responds to poverty in San Joaquin County be feeding the hungry, caring for health issues and restoring human dignity to over 700 individuals each day.

Description

St. Mary’s Dining Room provides the following free caring services to the community. Our ability to provide this care is made possible through the generosity of our community. It is because of their financial support, volunteerism and their donation of in-kind supplies that we can provide hope to all that visit our campus each day. We are grateful to be voted 2020 Best of San Joaquin Non-Profit. (We are located a block from the Stockton DMV)

Our DINING ROOM is open 7 days a week. Each morning we serve a hot breakfast, followed by a hot lunch and dinner.

Our CLOTHING & HYGIENE CENTER is open 6 days a week. We provide access to hot showers, hygiene products, haircuts and seasonal clothing to our guests.

Our MEDICAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured through the help of volunteer professionals. Eye exams are also performed and prescription glasses are provided.

Our DENTAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured. Dentists provide needed dental care and education to our guests. Dentures are also provided.

Our SOCIAL SERVICES center allows staff and volunteers to provide case management for guests by assisting with completing applications for various benefit programs. Guests are provided with advocacy and referrals for securing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and employment.

Our SENIOR CENTER allows us to support our senior guests (55+) to come to relax, read the newspaper, make friends, participate in activities with our volunteers and other seniors.
