Headstone Restoration Assessment Assistant

The goal of the Headstone Restoration Assistant (virtual/offsite volunteer) is to assist the JELA/JAZZ curator with inventorying the current condition of the headstones located at Chalmette National Cemetery. The inventory will be used to develop a management strategy to reach complete restoration.

Volunteers will work from their home computers to view, analyze and inventory headstones according to Chalmette National Cemetery Condition Assessment & Restoration Project protocol. Volunteers will be trained to analyze four condition standards that will be assessed as part of this inventory project.

Length of Commitment:
Position is ongoing, until the project is complete

Tools, Equipment, and Vehicles to be Operated:
* Volunteers will be required to have a Gmail account
* Volunteers must have a computer with internet access

Location Where Work Will Be Performed:
Work will be completed entirely off site.

Physical Requirements of Work:
The volunteer will use a computer to analyze condition standards.
