The Austin Civic Orchestra needs volunteers to usher and work the ticket booth for our Saturday, December 10 Holiday concert. We also need volunteers to help with a cookie reception that will be held after the concert.
The concert will feature jazz vocalist Suzi Stern. She will perform Mel Torme's The Christmas Song and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, arranged by her husband, George Oldziey
After a performance of Bizet's Farandole from L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2 and Prokofiev’s quirky and delightful Lieutenant Kijé Suite , the second half of the program will delight with popular holiday favorites like A Charlie Brown Christmas , music from Fiddler on the Roof , and the perennial favorite,Sleigh Ride . The concert will end with a carol sing-a-long followed by holiday cookies and cider.
