Their challenges are our opportunities!

BLR is a grassroots, faith-based nonprofit organization established in 2008. Over the last three years, we have expanded our services; opened our second senior care center in Ethiopia, received property to build a home for the homeless elders and we also launched our local chapter WAAS- Women of Africa Alliance for Solutions.

We are growing and we are looking for individuals ignited with passion to Build lives, Love being the catalyst, and Restore hope to those marginalized elders. Join our small but dynamic board members to strengthen the work that is changing lives.

If you believe in Servant Leadership, you will love this group. Without a doubt, you will know that your expertise and effort will make a world of difference. We are looking to expand in the area of finance, fundraising, legal and generally compassionate individuals.

If service is your calling, here is an opportunity to serve!

Looking forward, ps. feel free to contact us should you need more information.

Thank you!

Mission Statement

Local Mission: To promote healthy, productive, and self-sufficient living for African immigrant/refugee older adult and elderly populations in the greater Metro Denver area. Our Vision: To act as advocates by promoting an environment of dignity and respect for what has become a marginalized population. Mission International To BUILD, LOVE and RESTORE hope; preserve historic, religious, and traditional values, legacy and wisdom acquired through life experience; advocate for the dignity, safety and respect of the homeless elderly in Africa- Ethiopia.

Description

Our focus is to maintain virtuous quality of life of elderly women and men by providing the basic necessities, such as food, shelter, and medical care, while nurturing the body, mind, and soul.

Our vision is twofold:

To serve as a bridge to create a
forum for sharing culturally appropriate best practices to meet the needs of the community, the majority of which are older adult and elderly women.

To act as advocates by promoting
an environment of respect and dignity for what has become marginalized
population.

Our goal is to promote collaboration with service providers that are already engaged in serving the target group, tapping into our years of experience in working with the refugee and immigrant populations. We have strong ties with faith-based, community and government organizations that will
allow us to tailor our services to close the gap.
