Looking to invest your time and talents in a way that makes a lasting impact? By investing your expertise in planning and evaluation to Circle of Peace International (COPI), you can ensure that orphans and low-income students in Africa get the key to a better life: a quality education.
The Director of Programs is a member of the Board of Directors with special responsibility to oversee four programs for Circle of Peace International:
1) Student Sponsor Program
2) Overseas Service Learning Program
3) Pen Pal Program
4) Business Development Program
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Program Director works with a Program Team made up of Program Managers to implement all programs. Responsibilities include collaborating with COPI board and Circle of Peace School administrators to develop program goals and strategy.
Because the organization has no staff, the Director of Programs must be a person with excellent communication skills, who can work without supervision, carry out responsibilities in a timely manner, and provide coaching and support for program volunteers. An appreciation for the mission, vision and values of Circle of Peace International and Circle of Peace School is a must. Familiarity with the nonprofit sector would be a plus. We seek a person residing in the Richmond, VA area. A one-year commitment is required.
If you fit this bill, we would love to hear from you. Just think, if all children in low-income countries could acquire basic reading skills, 171 million people could be lifted out of poverty. What better way to invest your time and talents!
