Pouring stream sample into Secchi tube to measure water clarity

Become a citizen monitor and help protect streams in Minnesota! Do you live near a stream or visit one frequently? If so, we are looking for people just like you to take water clarity readings on a stream of your choice each summer. No prior experience is necessary. Just a desire to help your local stream.

The sampling season is April-September each year. Water clarity readings are quick and easy (about 1/2 hour every other week) and provide valuable data on the health of a stream.

Training is available online and equipment is provided at no cost. We have openings on streams all across the state. Contact us today!
