- Works to analyze the implications of federal, state and local legislation
- Developing policy proposals and advocate them individually and in conjunction with allies
- Conduct and oversee policy research and drafting, working closely with the Executive Director as appropriate
- Develop and implement a strategic policy agenda for each established issue priority including achievable goals and performance measures;
- Build and direct strong, well-designed, well-defined programs to promote suicide prevention in the LGBTQI community across the Commonwealth, integrating legal, legislative, public education, communications and organizing strategies
- Coordinate with the Executive Director and Director of Communications on policy advocacy communications including email alerts and press releases
- Lead the development and management of effective working relationships with key public officials at the federal, state and local levels
- Communicate with and brief members of Congress, their staff and agency officials through in-person meetings, written communications, and phone calls

Mission Statement
Safe Space, Inc. is dedicated to providing a safe, accepting and supportive environment to combat social stigma, bullying and other issues faced by LGBT+ youth.
Description
We are a grass roots organization founded in March 2016 with the goal of providing a welcoming environment to LGBT+ youth in the Nothern Virginia area. Some of the programs we plan on offering include social activities, self defense classes, mentoring and tutoring. Age wise we are targeting high school students age 14 to 18.
