Share the joy of giving! Escort parents as they choose new gifts for their children through our own Toy & Joy Shop. Also help distribute gift cards to low-income families in need to help complete their holiday celebration.
With the help of hundreds of volunteers we are able to transform our Center into a toy store. New toys are gathered during the season via our giving tree program and toy barrels, but are also saved throughout the year. These toys are displayed on tables and shelving for pre-registered families to choose gifts they think their children will enjoy.
Volunteers are needed to help these families in choosing these gifts.
Families will also receive a grocery gift card for the purchase of holiday meal.
Other volunteers will be asked to restock and reassemble the toy tables, assist in checkout, checkin, act as greeters, kid wranglers, etc.
We plan to serve approximately 1800 families during this event and couldn't do it without your help.

Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the Universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
he 63,000 square-foot San Francisco Kroc Center redefines what a community center is all about. The unprecedented place of gathering and enrichment houses an array of education, sports, faith, arts and supportive programs. The programs, as well as the building itself, have been designed to stimulate the mind, body, and spirit, to provide hope, and to transform the life of each and every member of the community.
Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc, had a clear vision in mind: build state-of-art recreational and arts facilities in underserved communities throughout the nation to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities to grow their natural gifts and talents. In 2003, Mrs. Kroc passed away, and entrusted to The Salvation Army the largest gift ever given to a private charity for the express purpose of building and endowing Kroc Centers.
A fulfillment of Joan Kroc’s vision, the Kroc Center in San Francisco, is comprised of five major components: a Center of Worship, an Education Center, an Aquatics Center, a Fitness and Recreation Center, and Special Event Facilities.
