Do you like looking at beautiful pictures of nature? Know a thing or two about Photoshop? Enjoy organization? If you answered yes to these questions, The Nature Conservancy needs you. The Wisconsin Chapter is recruiting for a detail-oriented person to help prepare digital images and add them to our photo archive. Training, equipment, and a fantastic work environment will be provided.
This is an unpaid volunteer position with The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin. It is designed to provide an individual with valuable work experience and guidance in exchange for structured volunteer work. The volunteer will have the opportunity to interact with staff and become familiar with the work of The Nature Conservancy. Additional opportunities may include: online trainings on a variety of conservation and non-profit related topics, extensive networking opportunities, joining field trips and staff outings, attending conservation meetings, and school/career advancement. The Conservancy can provide a letter of recommendation or fulfill reference requests upon successful completion of the position.
The focus of this volunteer position is to organize our photo vault for easy use. Experience with Photoshop is preferred. Position starts immediately. Join us at our office in downtown Madison during normal business hours at a time that works for you.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalency, plus 30 hours of college credit.
Photography experience preferable, especially archiving or working with images in some way.
Available at least 5-10 hours per week. Hours are negotiable.
Experience using Photoshop preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
Ability to organize time and meet deadlines
DISCRETION/LATITUDE/DECISION-MAKING:
Work independently without requiring detailed management review of general work.
RESPONSIBILITY/OVERSIGHT - FINANCIAL & SUPERVISORY:
No direct supervision of other staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Work requires only minor physical exertion and/or physical strain.
