Mission Statement
The Grundy County Health Department has a group of medical and non medical volunteers. The volunteer program is called the Medical Reserve Corps (MRC). The MRC's mission is to help promote and educate overall health & well being and emergency preparedness in the community. We accomplish this by training and utilizing our volunteers to assist us with educating the public on a variety of topics.
Description
The Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps is housed within the Grundy County Health Department.
The MRC provides the framework for health professionals and others that are not medical personnel to volunteer and strengthen overall public health within their community!
MRC units are locally based teams of medical and non-medical volunteers who can assist their community not only in promoting public health but also during large-scale emergencies such as influenza pandemic, a chemical spill, or an act of terrorism.
Our volunteers help within a variety of departments in our Health Department in an effort to fill gaps and resource needs. Our volunteers are a vital component of the health department and have helped with numerous outreach and health education projects.
